Brand Guide Design

Bringing consistency and clarity to one of college sports' most iconic brands.

The Nebraska Huskers are a powerhouse in college athletics with a legacy that spans generations. But behind the scenes, they lacked a cohesive set of formalized brand guidelines to unify their look and voice across departments and platforms.

The Challenge

Nebraska Athletics had long operated without a formal brand guide, relying instead on assumptions about how things “should” look. This led to inconsistencies across departments, materials, and media. With such a high-profile brand, they needed an official, easy-to-follow guide that could bring clarity and consistency to every visual touchpoint.

The Solution

Working closely with the athletic department, I developed a comprehensive brand guide that covered everything from logo usage and font hierarchy to color systems, lockups, and photography direction. The first edition focused on foundational elements, and a later edition expanded to include social media tone and voice. The final product was printed with embossed and spot-finished covers to reflect the premium nature of the program.
