One of these weddings happen each year. The wedding that holds nothing back. And this Omaha wedding at A View on State was that wedding.

And it doesn’t hurt when the groom is an event planner himself.

I know I can’t compete with them. The “big box” wedding invitation websites out there. You know who I’m talking about. And when I say I can’t compete…I can’t compete on one thing: PRICE. $1/invitation plus free envelope printing they have out there? Sorry. No price matching.

During the 2020 pandemic wedding season, I felt an obligation to be there for all my couples. If that was charging cost for reprints, guiding them through game plans of what to do next, or helping them making decisions…I wanted to be there.

I told myself at the beginning of 2020…no more styled shoots, Dana. Focus on your couples and maybe take a day off here or there.

We all know 2020 didn’t go as we planned. So why not get involved in a styled shoot?

I told myself I was not going to participate in any styled shoots this year. But when some of my favorite vendors friends are getting together to do one, I broke down and said OF COURSE I’ll do the styled shoot!

With my process, I plan time in for multiple revisions, feedback and conversations with the bride & groom about the design of their wedding invitation. And a few times, that time is limited.

When you think barn, you may think country or rustic.  I was talking about the Barn at the Ackerhurst Dairy Farm to someone and they wondered who would have their wedding on dirt floors.
