I started seeing the trend a year or so ago. Like most trends, it takes a while to get to the Midwest. So, when Caleigh & Cory found a semi-custom invitation design and wanted to turn the colors terracotta for her late summer Omaha wedding, I was ecstatic.
The semi-custom design she found was from a styled shoot I did and posted the photos to Instagram. She loved the modern look of the invites and added her own touch of a belly band. Such a great choice to pair with the envelope liner. Those pieces highlighted the pampas grass and greenery look she was incorporating into wedding day.
This wedding was one I won’t soon forget. Caleigh and Cory wanted personalized details for their wedding day. Two of those featured their crazy, almost cross-eyed cat, Fifi.
I’ve been doing a lot of signature drink signs with dogs. But 2021 was the year of the cat and Fifi was the leader of this movement. Fifi was featured on their napkins and was the star signature drink. The “Fifi-rita” was extremely popular. In fact, the Fifi-rita was so popular at their reception, The Barn at the Ackerhurst Dairy Farm had to go out that night and get more margarita (fifi-rita) mix.
Besides amazing wedding invitations and Fifi’s wedding items, this couple also did door hangers for hotel guest bags, seating chart, koozies, table numbers and menus.
The icing on this wedding cake, I never actually got to meet this fun couple from Texas. That’s what’s great about what I do…I meet couples from everywhere and no matter where they’re from, we can design beautiful items together. Distance has never stopped me from helping a couple creating amazing paper goods for their wedding day. And that goes for this couple and their terracotta wedding invitations.
