It was 2016 and I was attending the Creative at Heart Conference in Memphis, Tennessee. I sat next to a tall blonde who matched me. I mean, we were both wearing red plaid shirts as if we planned it. Come to find out, this Indiana wedding photographer also just had a baby named Beckett (my youngest son’s name as well). Maybe this was fate.
We became friends at this conference along with a lot of other women who I am still fans of today. But I didn’t know at that time that Morgan’s younger sister, Lauren, would be getting married in 2018 and Lauren would not only pick me to design her Save the Dates, but also her wedding invitations. Yep, it was fate.
What I loved about Lauren & Eric is that for both their Save the Dates and invitations, they picked designs from my pre-designed package on my online store. And even though you may think you can’t really make a design your own with a pre-designed invite, you’re totally wrong.
Lauren picked my Andra design, which was designed to be black on ivory paper. Lauren changed it up to print a charcoal on ivory paper, which just made the invite look different enough to be gorgeous on it’s own. Sticking with just the traditional standard package, we had a details card, RSVP plus envelope printing to go with it.
Of course her sister couldn’t actually photograph her wedding (since she was standing right next to her that day), but Lauren and Eric’s photographer, Meghan Premuda, did an amazing job. I love the light and airy feeling of their wedding and white bridesmaid dresses?!? Totally bringing it back to the Royal Wedding circa 2011. I was in love.
Congrats to this wonderful couple and I hope to again sit next to a tall blonde some day for a reunion of Creative at Heart round 8!
