In the middle of the winter months in Nebraska, I like to go through photos from the weddings of the past year and look at all the beautiful summer weddings. The sunshine, the blue skies, the tan bodies…oh yes. This pale skin designer is longing for those days. The one wedding that sticks out to me from 2018 is Jami & Matt’s destination wedding in beautiful Coronado, California.
This couple, like many destination wedding couples, just don’t know how to word invitations as well as knowing what to send to whom. Jami & Matt were getting married in California in front of close friends and family, but they were also planning a reception back in Lincoln, Nebraska a few weeks later. I see this so much and love it. For one, you get to dress up and party twice. Secondly, it allows you to have a very intimate ceremony and still party with friends later.
We created two versions of Jami & Matt’s invitation. One invites people to the destination wedding. This piece gives all the details of travel, lodging, etc. The other invitation looks exactly the same but is worded differently. We are telling people that Jami & Matt are getting married, but you’re invited to the reception (only). Of course, worded a lot more eloquent.
We brought in florals on Jami & Matt’s invitation as well as a beautiful rose gold foiling. All of the pieces came together so well.
Jami also loved the idea of marble place cards and table numbers for their destination wedding and reception. YES! I haven’t done these for about a year and I was itching to get my hands on rose gold vinyl for these fun pieces. We also created a welcome board, menus, signs…I just about forget everything we did! Each piece of course coordinated with their style which was on point.
Bask in these photos and enjoy the California sunshine behind this beautiful couple. I know I am.
