Last minute wedding invitations for Lincoln, Nebraska's most beautiful wedding

I’ll never forget the day I got a phone call from Jan.

When I talked to Jan Knobel for the first time on the phone, she was a nervous mother-of-the-bride. And she had a right to be. It was the beginning of May and her daughter was getting married thebeginning of August.  And theirinvitation designer went MIA.

Completely missing in action.  She emailed and texted and called and left voicemails. Janwas trying everything to have this designer design her daughter’s weddinginvitations.  Jan worked with thisdesigner for her first daughter’s wedding. But now, she was against a rock anda hard place.  She needed a backupplan and fast.

I quickly calmed her down and told her I didn’t want to takebusiness away from anyone, but I would give this other designer one more chanceto respond.  If nothing, we need tomeet on Monday.

And on Monday we met and talked about Haley’s wedding inLincoln, Nebraska.  They knewexactly what they wanted for invitations and we talked about some ideas I hadas well.  The main concern:timing.  I had one month to designand print double thick letterpress invitations with gold edge painting andvellum belly bands with a wax seal.

If you know anything about printing, you know this is a tallorder in a short amount of time. And I knew these would going to be some of the most gorgeous invitationsI have ever designed, so I had to not only get on it, but get on it fast.

Jan and Haley were amazing to work with, for one.  And my print shop blew my mind on theirturnaround.  The goal was to getthese into their hands by June 4.  AndI failed. Jan picked them up on June 6…but I’m still considering that a win forthis situation.  They did too.

I’m not sure if I could have dreamt up a more beautiful wedding.  Beautiful couple, beautiful day, beautiful everything.  I may say that a lot for the weddings I design for, but for real this time.  Take a look at these photos from Gleason Photography and I assure you, you will be thinking the same.

One year later, I still am in awe of these beautiful weddinginvitations.  They rival theinvitations I just designed for her sister, Kara, who will be getting marriedthis June.
