Fuchsia Pink with an Indian Flair Omaha Wedding at the Durham

A challenge is always waiting at my front door.

If it's something crazy new I've never designed before or some sort of off-the-wall idea, I tend to attract these things, I swear.

With Erin & Aru's wedding, I got a little of everything.

First, was their wedding invitation. Gold foil on black paper and wanting to bring in fuchsia pink, velvet and an intricate "henna" design, to give a nod to Aru's Indian culture.

Challenge accepted. And what we came up with was absolutely gorgeous. The design was something one of my print shops wouldn't even take on. Too detailed. So in true Dana Osborne style, I found another way to get it done. And also found a new print shop to take on some of my more challenging work.

The second challenge was their seating chart. Erin & Aru used wedding planner Carrie Dayton and Carrie brought their seating chart idea to me. She wanted something tall, large and bold. No problem, right? So we created a 6' wooden seating chart with gold lettering. Again, gorgeous. And that henna design we used on the invites - on point for this piece.

Many times when I get these challenges, my best work appears. And I know this is true for Erin & Aru's wedding. I love the invitations, menus, table numbers...everything we created. And their wedding day reflected everything they were dreaming of.
