Art Deco Downtown Omaha, Nebraska Wedding

During the 2020 pandemic wedding season, I felt an obligation to be there for all my couples. If that was charging cost for reprints, guiding them through game plans of what to do next, or helping them making decisions…I wanted to be there.

But when the bride is from my hometown area, I felt an even higher obligation. And when her name is Dana…c’mon. Danas from Northeast Nebraska need to stick together!

Dana and Jeremy were planning a Memorial Day wedding weekend in Omaha. But the world had other plans and they adjusted to a Labor Day weekend wedding in Omaha. The venue changed, but the look did not. In fact, their art deco style was something that fit into both venues they picked.

Large to Small Wedding

Their wedding went from a large, invite as many as you can affair, to a small, intimate wedding at a beautiful restaurant in the Old Market in Omaha. And we maybe didn’t get to produce ALL the things we had in mind, but that’s totally okay. Because I know this couple had a wedding day they dreamed about.

The Wedding Invitations

We designed beautiful art deco wedding invitations with gold foiling and burgundy envelope liners. Luckily for us, we were able to reprint these invites and reuse the foil die that was produced since we didn’t foil any of the details. Maybe the wedding gods were telling me something when I designed these.

Wedding day consisted of a handful of programs for their ceremony, place cards and a seating chart for their guests. These details were perfect for their wedding day.

Trust Your Vendors

Through the phone calls with Dana & Jeremy, the decision making, the changes…there is still one thing that I’ll remember about this couple (other than being another Dana from Northeast Nebraska). This couple booked with me without a consultation. They knew they wanted to work with me and signed my contract within hours of me sending over a preliminary estimate.

As a vendor, that means a lot. That means this couple wanted to work with someone they trust and someone they felt that would take care of them. Pandemic or not, they picked the right vendor.
