Ellen & Matthew | FFA Enrichment Center | Des Moines, Iowa | dSy invitations
We were down to crunch time with Ellen & Matt’s invitations. She wanted gold foiling, which I love, but it takes some time for this gorgeous process to happen. So I had my print shop ship the invites directly to Ellen. She promised to send a few to me. No problem. But was I disappointed when they showed up to me. Not because they weren’t gorgeous…because they were. It’s because Ellen was doing her own calligraphy on the envelopes and she didn’t do one for me! I forgave her because she’s one of the sweetest brides I worked with. From her photo, the calligraphy looked amazing 🙂
Ellen and Matt were on trend by bringing gold into their wedding day color. But what I loved was the “pop of raspberry” that we brought to this invitation package. There was just a bit on the printed pieces. But the envelope liner…oh my…that pop had to impress when guests opened it for the first time.
Their wedding day looked nothing less than perfect. For this couple, we designed wedding invitations, ceremony programs and reception menus. I feel blessed to have designed for this Des Moines couple and created some fantastic wedding invitations. Congrats again, Ellen & Matt!
There is something about working with brides from Iowa that I just love. Maybe it’s the air a bit more East of Omaha or maybe it’s that I can venture out and discover new venues. Whatever it is, Becca and Kyle fit into the category of a couple that I loved to work with.
Becca and I started talking via email because her friend Ellen referred me to her. Becca trusted me with her Save the Dates before she even met me.
And when we met, I got to know even more about their wedding, their style and how this fabulous look was going to fall into place. Which on my end for invitations, they did. We created this elegant purple and black wedding invitation for the big day. From there came ceremony programs, the rehearsal dinner invite and afterward, cute Thank You notes with several photos from their wedding day. (love these).
I love looking back at the notes I take during invitation consultations and then comparing them to the photos of a couple’s wedding day. For Ellen and Mitch’s Des Moines, Iowa wedding, everything was exactly how she described it to me. Classic, timeless, elegant, traditional….we came up with an invitation that matched her wedding and what they wanted perfectly.
We created a standard package featuring Tiffany blue and white. The classic element I love about these invites, and tend to show off to other couples, is their monogram. It’s something simple, classic and we utilized it across the board. I especially love how we printed the monogram right on the belly band, which was added to the standard package. We also designed the ceremony programs and menus for wedding day, which coordinated perfectly.
Congrats to this great couple! Wishing you a lifetime of happiness!
