Andra & Connor | Omaha Country Club | Omaha, Nebraska | dSy invitations
Black on ivory.
Those three words could have been the only thing I wrote down from the consultation I had with Andra before we started designing invitations for her August 2016 wedding. She knew what she wanted. And classic was what she wanted.
And even today, when I meet with a future bride wanting a classic look, Andra & Connor’s wedding invitations are the first I grab. These beautiful ivory paper invitations are adorned with gold foiled names. Past that…it’s black on ivory. The font is classic and beautiful. And everything flows. It’s one of my favorites from this past year.
We created so many great pieces for their wedding day including ceremony programs, custom signs, menus, place cards and a welcome card for their guest hotel gift bags.
It’s always a sad realization when I never get to meet a bride face-to-face. Don’t get me wrong. Not seeing a couple doesn’t affect how I design or creating nothing-less-than-perfect invitations. And it hit me the day I sent Ashley’s ceremony programs to print that I’ve never met her! But we worked so well together. And I wished nothing but the best for her and Joseph’s September wedding in Clive, Iowa.
I love showing her invitations off to a couple. Because there is a WOW factor when you open the envelope. Glitter gold envelope liners. Probably my favorite part. With gold glitter belly bands. Yes, please!
Her navy double layer invitations had to be the talk of her wedding guests. I’ve done nothing like these before. I love the small blush accents throughout. Just a touch of that beautiful color!
Take a moment to take in their wedding day. It’s country….it’s gorgeous. And I would have to think, it was an amazing day for Ashley & Joe!
Congrats to this fabulous couple! Wishing you a lifetime of happiness!
I was so happy to be back in Des Moines for the Your Wedding Iowa Bridal Forum on Sunday. I love meeting with couples, hearing their wedding style, wedding date and setting up times to chat even more in-depth about what we can design for their wedding invitations.
As always, here are a few things that stood out to me yesterday from these Iowa couples:
Big Weddings! I had a handful of brides asking for pricing for over 250 invitations (yes, invitations!).
Navy and gold. Trends are on point in Des Moines.
2017 brides were out in full force. And a 2018 bride…the ultimate planner!
My booth space looked fabulous once again thanks to my fantastic husband who braved super cold temps to haul everything into the West Des Moines Sheraton and set up my booth even before the family was out of bed Sunday morning. This is the first time since moving back to Omaha that I did an Iowa show, so my family were troopers to pack up and spend the weekend in a hotel room and find something to do on a Sunday afternoon (great day for a movie!)
If I had the pleasure to chat with you yesterday, let’s follow up with a free invitation consultation! I’d love to hear more about your wedding style and how we can make that come to life through your wedding invites. Summer 2016 couples…contact me NOW! I’m getting limited on time and bookings.
On the road! It was probably the coldest weekend of the year, but we loaded up and headed East.
My fantastic crew! They packed up, loaded up, unloaded, set up and hauled it back home for me. And got to see The Good Dinosaur somewhere in that time too.
My booth looked great once again. Thanks to Bella Flora for the awesome flowers!
I love a couple who knows what they want. And when I met with Kate before her October 2015 wedding, I knew I ran into one of those couples. And when she said GOLD GLITTER, I knew we were a great fit to work together.
Kate and Dan’s style was an art deco inspired look, but Kate didn’t want to go over the top. And I definitely saw where she wanted to go. Nothing too “gatsby” but kept that 1920’s look in mind within the design. And gold glitter band…oh ya. Pair gold glitter with the navy look she was going for with her wedding day…nothing less than classy.
We designed a standard package on off-white paper, complete with the invitation, guest information card and RSVP postcard. And of course, that gold glitter belly band. We also designed their Save the Date postcards and ceremony programs to complete the wedding invitation suite.
I gotta thank this couple for allowing me to make the look of their wedding day come to life through their custom invitations. Best wishes to this amazing couple!
Fourth of July wedding! Awesome! Red, white and blue and fireworks and all the good old fashion America.
Well, they had fireworks. And after you see the photos below, you’ll agree with me, their style was spot on regardless of the day of the year Kristin and Adam had their wedding on.
This couple was so down-to-earth, which is always refreshing (though, many of my couples are this way). As I look back from the notes I took when I met them, my page is only half full. Maybe because from the few words they told me, I knew exactly the direction they wanted to go. Classic. Romantic. Soft. Blush pink. Lace.
And beautiful. The invitations we came up with were simple as we incorporated a lace border around the entire invitation. Coming up with that blush pink was a challenge but by the time wedding season 2014 was over, I had it mastered. What I absolutely loved about their invitation package was their RSVP. This couple had a lot of great ideas. A lot of fun ideas. And they wanted to incorporate them all. No problem. We incorporated a “Where are you coming from?” map, a “How much will you eat and drink” chart for guests to fill in as well as a mad libs section so people can give their best adjectives and verbs to let Kristin & Adam know if they are coming or not. As Kristin told me, she wanted her guests to open up this beautiful invitation but then see this fun RSVP and know exactly what kind of fun they were going to have.
Thank you to this wonderful couple for allowing me to design for your wedding day. From the photos below, it was a beautiful time! Wishing you a lifetime of happiness!
Locally in Omaha, the Midlands Business Journal is a great publication to see information about anything business. From new hires, to new businesses to what is going on, I’ve always picked up the MBJ to get in the know.
So I was super thrilled when I got contacted by the MBJ about their weddings section in the January publication. And at the time, I didn’t know the extent of what this was going to be. They asked me to answer some questions (check), they asked me to send in my headshot (check) and I was done.
A few weeks later I get a phone call about getting my photo taken for the article. I was confused because I did send in my headshot. What else would they want? Well, this is what they wanted:
Whoa! Like an actual newspaper article! I was beyond excited to see this and love that I can talk about wedding invitations and help brides come up with something truly unique for their wedding day.
Thanks to the Midlands Business Journal for this great exposure! I will post the entire article soon.
